After so many conflicting benchmarks and reports with Ryzen I finally decided to test my R7-1700 @ 4ghz vs my i7-7700k @ 5ghz Vs. 2 E5-2670 Xeons (Sandy Bridge Architecture). Also reason for doing this now is that the updates have flowed through on bios windows and the Bios so what we are seeing is these rigs running at their max or near max potential.
This will be part 1 of the ultimate showdown where I show 720p results, 4k results (part 2) and then productivity / streaming / multiplayer and wrap it up with a final conclusion in part 3 on which CPU is best for what. I will also be doing this with the other SKU lines, and this will close out the topic for me at least for the next year until new CPUs from both are released. The 16 Core Dual Xeons Rig performed quite good too.
Though along the way of this testing I am getting some very good insights into how each CPU performs and what their strengths and weaknesses are which will branch off into other videos as well. So stay tuned for those.
